The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in designing and implementing data management technologies such as data warehouse, data lake, reporting, advanced analytics, and system integrations across all business areas within a biotherapeutic or pharmaceutical environment. Position Summary:
The Senior Director, IT (Data Analytics & Integration) partners with IT leadership to define and execute Poseida’s data strategy. She/He works closely with key business stakeholders and IT Leadership to identify and prioritize business needs and deliver effective technology-based solutions and services to address business needs. She/He balances several time-sensitive projects concurrently while at the same time defining the long-term strategy and plan for this function.
Responsibilities
These may include but are not limited to:
- Design and implement a comprehensive enterprise data strategy that provides trusted and reliable data technologies and services across all prioritized business areas.
- Provide direct project management oversight to implement advanced technical solutions necessary to support business analytics, reporting, integration, and data services-related needs.
- Serve as the primary technical expert on all related matters of data management, business intelligence, system integration, and data services.
- Work in collaboration with IT Business Partners across various business lines (e.g., Research, Development, Manufacturing, etc..) to deliver on prioritized data-related projects such as Datawarehouse, BI, Analytics, Integration, etc.
- Design and build system integrations across enterprise applications that are hosted in a mixture of on-premises and in the cloud.
- Define and implement a system integration that can be leveraged across the organization and addresses all potential considerations related to integration needs (e.g., period batch, real-time, on-demand, etc.).
- Define and implement a Master Data Management (MDM) strategy.
- Define a long-term “fit for purpose” data strategy that leverages leading-edge design patterns and technologies.
- Partner closely with IT Business Partners to identify potential data-related projects for Poseida’s technology roadmaps.
- Partner closely with IT Operations to ensure proper configuration, maintenance, and ongoing support of any necessary core infrastructure (cloud or hosted) and associated services necessary for data management solutions.
- Manage vendor partnerships and service providers to ensure proper configuration, build, maintenance and ongoing support and maintenance of delivered solutions.
Requirements
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline and 12+ years of relevant technical experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
- Biotech or Life Sciences industry experience is preferred. Prior experience within a cell or gene therapy environment is a plus.
- In-depth technical experience designing and implementing business intelligence, data warehouse/data lake, analytics, integration, or other data services-related technologies.
- Proven ability to successfully implement application interfaces and integrations between various business applications utilizing standard integration technologies.
- Working knowledge of the functional business area processes within a biotech environment and a deep understanding of the relevant metrics and KPI’s.
- Proven track record of technical project management experience for large, complex business intelligence projects.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC best practices & project management skills leading large scale computer system implementation projects.
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to collaborate and influence across all levels of management. Must be able to define a cogent data strategy and gain the necessary endorsement and buy-in of that strategy across the organization to facilitate a successful execution.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders to accomplish identified goals.
- Demonstrated complex problem-solving ability.
- Ability and willingness to think outside of the box as well as comfortable in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
- Position may require work off-shift hours, weekends, and some holiday work.

Sr. Director, IT Salary Range: $214,000 to $228,000 annually
The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
