A law firm in San Francisco, CA, is seeking an experienced Litigation - Connectivity, Privacy, and Information (Copyright) Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation with a focus on connectivity, privacy, and information law, particularly involving copyright issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and litigate cases involving connectivity, privacy, and information law, with an emphasis on copyright disputes.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents related to litigation matters.
- Assist in all aspects of discovery, including document review, preparation of discovery requests and responses, and management of electronic discovery.
- Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
- Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to clients on matters related to connectivity, privacy, and copyright law.
- Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop case strategy and execute litigation tactics effectively.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility for admission by waiver.
- 3+ years of relevant experience practicing law, with a strong emphasis on litigation involving connectivity, privacy, and information law, particularly copyright issues.
- Comprehensive understanding of copyright law, including digital copyright issues and fair use principles.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience in technology litigation or intellectual property law.
- Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations, cybersecurity issues, and emerging technologies.
- Experience managing complex litigation cases from inception to resolution.
