The Global asset allocation team is looking to hire a Head of Multi Asset Model Portfolios, dedicated to creating and managing model portfolios for the intermediary channel. NTAM believes that the multi-asset model portfolio solutions business represents a significant growth opportunity going forward (particularly investment models in the intermediary channel).

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate a comprehensive growth strategy for Northern Trust’s Multi-asset model portfolio business.
  • Collaborate with the CIO of multi-asset and the investment team to create, deliver, and manage multi-asset portfolios for the intermediary channel.
  • Map the firm’s asset allocation use to model portfolios.
  • Establish mechanisms (e.g., approval procedures) for the inclusion of proprietary strategies in open architecture models.
  • Oversee model portfolio rollout and maintenance (e.g., rebalancing, implementation).
  • Articulate the Go-To-Market strategy to succeed across prioritized opportunities.
  • Develop narratives around new products, educate internal teams on model products, and create communication materials (i.e., factsheets).
  • Create and deliver presentations for existing and prospective client portfolios, assist in preparing quarterly reports and letters to clients, and manage client interactions and communications.

Qualifications:

  • Senior investment professional with 15+ years of experience in portfolio management, asset allocation, and product innovation.
  • Thought leader with a track record of success in building investment processes and products to execute growth opportunities.
  • Experience managing blended (active/passive) model portfolios by implementing tactical allocation signals and fund selection such as taxable, tax-aware, and with liquid alternatives ranges.
  • Experience prospecting large clients to expand business globally and build new model ranges for custom models incorporating tax-loss harvesting solutions, private markets, SMAs, and active ETFs.

Experience: Three to six years of experience in an investment management environment.

Advanced degree in finance, statistics, engineering, or hard science required.
