Amazon’s Exports & Expansions legal team is looking for a talented attorney to support our dynamic exports and stores expansion business teams. This is a unique opportunity to support cross-border business models and work cross-functionally with retail, marketplace, operations, advertising, payments, trademark and employment teams.

Key job responsibilities:
Support strategic projects and agreements, as well as new and mature technology-driven offerings, counsel business and product development teams on a wide range of matters, and work with other members of the legal department locally and internationally to ensure that relevant legal and regulatory requirements and risks are understood and managed. You will also provide day-to-day advice to business teams, analyze and resolve issues that arise and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

You must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing. You will be expected to work independently and to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams all while demonstrating sound judgement even in ambiguous situations. A sense of humor and a desire to learn and be curious are essential. The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, is also essential.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years' experience in a national or international law firm
- In-house experience is a plus
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines

Compensation: Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
