Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking a Trial Attorney with over 10 years of experience to join its team in Los Angeles. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of multiple jury verdicts and a passion for advocating on behalf of clients. This role requires first-chair trial responsibilities, developing trial strategies, conducting complex legal research, and collaborating with outside counsel. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, dedicated, and discovery-driven, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Location:

Duties:

  • Serve as first-chair attorney in trial efforts
  • Develop and implement trial strategies
  • Conduct in-depth legal research on complex cases
  • Interface directly with specialized outside counsel on behalf of the firm and clients
  • Draft moving papers and oppositions on novel legal issues
  • Appear in court for hearings on motions and oppositions
  • Conduct depositions of key witnesses, experts, and company employees
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance client communication and improve firm policies
  • Timely reporting of billable hours
  • Address and resolve case issues promptly
  • Assist with additional tasks as assigned by senior management

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a trial attorney with a successful record in jury trials
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active California Bar membership
  • Strong client communication skills and ability to handle complex cases
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal timekeeping/client file management systems
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Leadership abilities and capacity to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
