Job Overview

The Director, Medical Strategy (Women’s Health) will be a key member of the Medical Affairs team reporting to the Executive Director, Medical Affairs Strategy.

This job is responsible for strategic direction and alliance management for the Women’s Health (WH) therapeutic area and set strategy for both internal company programs and external facing interactions. This role will effectively lead and communicate with cross-functional team members to share and gain insights that help SMPA meet the unmet medical needs in Women’s Health – Endometriosis and Uterine Fibroids.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develops and aligns Medical Affairs strategic plans with brand strategic imperatives that support impactful insights, data generation, and data communication plans.
  2. Serve as a Medical Strategy lead for the Pfizer alliance for Women’s Health.
  3. Oversee the strategy and development of Medical Affairs plans and scientific platforms for relugolix combination therapy.
  4. Develop the Medical Strategy Team within the US.
  5. Ensure cross-functional medical alignment with the US Field Medical team and other departments.
  6. Direct the implementation of plans through multi-modal medical education channels.
  7. Oversee the development and implementation of detailed scientific Publication Plans & Medical Advisory Board Plan.
  8. Play a highly visible role during exchanges within the medical/scientific community.
  9. Work closely with the commercial organization to align medical and commercial strategies.
  10. Partner with the Research & Development organization.
  11. Define and attend relevant medical and scientific conferences.
  12. Provide strategy and oversight for the development of a supportive US Investigator Initiated Study program.
  13. Provide detailed and compliant medical review and approval of external resources.
  14. Develops and oversees Medical Affairs annual operating budget.
  15. Ensures compliance with corporate and healthcare guidelines.
  16. Ability to travel (domestic and some international) up to 25%.

Education and Experience

  1. Advanced degree in medical science (MD, PharmD, PhD); MD preferred.
  2. 8+ years of relevant Medical Affairs work experience.
  3. Experience leading in a matrix team environment is a plus.
  4. Strong computer skills and knowledge of database management.

The base salary range for this role is $225,200 to $281,500. Our total rewards package includes merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, and eligibility for our 401(k) plan and various insurances.
