Chief Executive Officer

The Health Trust, San Jose, CA, United States

AGENCY DESCRIPTION
The Health Trust is committed to advancing health equity in Silicon Valley through a collaborative, innovative, and data-driven approach. THT is a $120 million nonprofit operating foundation focused in Santa Clara County and San Benito County, California. We aim for long-lasting change by tackling the physical, political, social, and systemic barriers that hinder health equity. In addition to addressing these challenges, we directly fund solutions that respond to both existing and emerging community needs. By leveraging partnerships and acting as a Funder, Advocate and Catalyst, we strive to create a healthier, more equitable future for all residents of Silicon Valley regardless of immigration status, income, race, gender, age, or socio-economic status.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Health Trust (THT) seeks a courageous and visionary thought leader with strong ties to the local community who embodies a commitment to health equity and community empowerment. This leader will guide innovative strategies and cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance the Foundation’s impact. Working closely with the Leadership Team and Board of Trustees, the CEO will champion local philanthropy focused on health equity and serve as a trusted partner within the broader Silicon Valley health ecosystem and community. They will actively engage with community stakeholders to identify and address emerging health care needs, leveraging THT’s strengths as a Funder, Advocate and Catalyst to directly address health disparities and foster positive change. The ideal candidate will inspire action and collaboration within a dynamic, forward-thinking organization with a demonstrated history of developing and growing high-impact nonprofit organizations.

A successful candidate should possess a deep understanding of how racial equity intersects with health equity and other social determinants of health. This includes recognizing the systemic barriers that contribute to health disparities, such as economic inequality, education access, and housing instability. They should be able to articulate how these factors collectively impact community health outcomes and demonstrate a commitment to addressing these issues through informed policies and innovative programs and practices. Experience in advocating for equitable solutions and collaborating with diverse communities, policymakers and funding sources will be essential in driving meaningful change.
