What you'll do
A Principal AI Product Manager is responsible for guiding the development and implementation of artificial intelligence products, focusing on aligning product outcomes with business objectives and ensuring they meet both employee productivity and growth objectives. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in artificial intelligence and skills in building blueprints for each function working with different domain teams. The Principal AI Product Manager ensures that the AI solutions developed not only leverage the latest in technology but also directly address customer needs and enhance the business’s value proposition.
Their responsibilities extend to managing the product roadmap, prioritizing features, and making strategic decisions to balance business goals with technological capabilities. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Chief Data Officer.
Responsibilities
- Strategize and define the product vision for AI-driven initiatives
- Manage the entire product lifecycle, from planning and development to deployment, adoption and updates
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure product success and integration
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities for AI applications
- Develop and implement product strategies tailored for AI technologies
- Lead ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative AI products
- Define product roadmaps, training plans and schedules in collaboration with technical and business teams
- Analyze market trends and competitive conditions to select the vendors and capabilities which are enabling AI capabilities
- Facilitate the product risk assessment with Security and Legal to ensure compliance to the NIST framework
- Oversee and steer the product development process, ensuring compliance with budget, scope, and project timelines
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure product functionalities are built to the highest standards
- Foster strong relationships with key team members and DTS to drive a holistic strategy from build and buy
What you bring
Basic
- 15+ years related experience
- Experience as a Product Manager in a technology-driven field, preferably with direct exposure to AI product management
- Experience developing product strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
- Experience working with artificial intelligence, machine learning, and LLMs
Preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to think outside the box
- Excellent teamwork skills with an ability to get the work done with minimal supervision
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field
- Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
Wage Transparency
Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:
California: $224,800.00 - $360,050.00 base salary. This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
States Not Eligible for Employment
This position is not eligible for employment in the following states: Alaska, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.
