Duties
- Prepare, file, and prosecute domestic and international patent applications.
- Provide strategic intellectual property counseling to clients in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
- Conduct thorough patentability assessments and due diligence analyses.
- Assist in developing global patent strategies aligned with client business objectives.
- Collaborate with inventors, researchers, and corporate teams to ensure accurate technical disclosures.
- Keep abreast of advancements in chemical and pharmaceutical patent law and share insights with clients and the legal team.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in patent prosecution and intellectual property counseling, specifically in the chemical or pharmaceutical domains.
- Proven expertise in handling complex technical subject matter and translating it into comprehensive legal strategies.
- Strong organizational abilities with a detail-oriented approach to managing multiple cases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and legal concepts clearly.
Education
- A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field is required.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic performance.
Certifications
- Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
- Registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.
