THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer with a robust background in AI-driven SaaS platforms and e-commerce to lead our digital product initiatives at Thrive Commerce. This pivotal role involves developing and executing comprehensive roadmaps for all digital products. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to shape and implement a product vision that is both conviction-driven and informed by thorough research and data analysis, ensuring it aligns with our consumers' needs.

As Chief Technology Officer, you will inspire and align your team around a unified strategic direction, while guiding them in delivering top-tier product, engineering, and design outcomes. Your role will require a blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution, leveraging your entrepreneurial spirit to drive innovation in a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional people and organizational skills, with a proven track record of managing complexity at various stages of growth and scale. You should have a deep understanding of machine learning applications within e-commerce, enabling you to harness AI technologies to enhance our product offerings and drive the company’s success.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Minimum of 10 Years in Senior Technology Roles: Demonstrated experience in a senior technology leadership role, such as CTO or VP of Engineering, within a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Track Record in Technology Strategy: Success in defining and executing technology strategies that drive significant business impact and growth.
  • Emerging Technologies: In-depth knowledge of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud computing.
  • Technical Leadership: Experience in leading complex technology projects, with a focus on building scalable and reliable technology solutions.
  • Technology Strategy Development: Ability to craft and implement a technology roadmap that aligns with the company's strategic goals and drives innovation.
  • Scalability and Optimization: Proven ability to scale technology solutions and optimize processes to meet growing business demands and market changes.
  • Team Leadership and Mentoring: Strong experience in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing technology teams. Ability to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience in working with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and operations, to drive technology initiatives and align with overall business objectives.
  • Commerce and Supply Chain Insight: Deep understanding of commerce, supply chain management, and e-commerce platforms. Ability to apply technical expertise to solve business challenges and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Alignment with Business Goals: Experience in aligning technology initiatives with broader business strategies, driving value creation and competitive advantage.
  • Fractional Commitment: Willingness to serve in a fractional CTO capacity, managing responsibilities in a part-time or flexible manner while balancing other commitments or engagements.
  • Analytical Abilities: Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges and opportunities.
  • Innovation and Creativity: Ability to think creatively and drive technological innovation to solve complex problems and meet evolving business needs.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s Degree: In Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced Degree: Master’s degree or MBA is preferred, providing additional strategic and leadership insights.
  • Relevant Certifications: Certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure, Google Cloud, PMP) are highly advantageous.
  • Technology-Driven Transformations: Demonstrated success in leading technology-driven transformations, with a history of delivering impactful results in previous roles.
  • Industry Connections: Established network of technology providers, industry experts, and thought leaders, with the ability to leverage these connections for strategic advantage.
  • Passion and Drive: Enthusiasm for simplifying e-commerce and logistics operations, with a collaborative, forward-thinking approach that aligns with Thrive Commerce’s mission and values.

BONUS POINTS

  • Global. Previous exposure or significant stakeholdership in the global/international execution of product experiences, is a plus.

COMPENSATION

This is full-time salaried exempt role. The salary range for this position is $250,000 - $350,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications, and is bonus eligible.
