Starting Salary: $88,104.00*


*NOTE: This title is on a step schedule and the salary range for the grade V-16 schedule is $88,104.00 - $148,260.00. New hires will start at the first step of $88,104.00 annually. The starting salary is non-negotiable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES


  1. Acting as a Duty Supervisor on an assigned shift, assigning and monitoring the work activities of airport operations staff.
  2. Supervising airport operations staff responsible for inspecting airfield facilities (e.g., runways, taxiways, ramps, surface lighting) for irregularities, safety hazards, and general physical condition, and responding to incidents affecting airfield and terminal operations, and performs related duties as required.
  3. Coordinating and supervising issuance and cancellation of Notices to Air Mission (NOTAMs) on airfield conditions.
  4. Receiving and relaying of airfield maintenance requests.
  5. Ordering and supervising runway closings and openings and initiating corrective measures in response to irregularities found during inspections to ensure proper maintenance of airfield facilities.
  6. Notifying departmental management of atypical airfield situations requiring their attention.
  7. Determining maintenance priorities (e.g., snow removal, grass cutting) in accordance with FAA regulations and departmental standards.
  8. Ensuring the timely and accurate maintenance of records.

THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a directly related field, plus two years of airfield operations experience, of which one year is in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


NOTE: A valid State of Illinois driver's license is required.


NOTE: The candidates selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment.


SELECTION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires an applicant to successfully complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the interview will be selected.
