Duties

  • Represent clients in environmental regulatory defense and administrative enforcement matters, including cases involving CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and related California statutes.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and counseling on environmental compliance and regulatory issues.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Prepare and present oral arguments, written briefs, and legal documents.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage litigation processes from inception through resolution.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and other legal professionals to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
  • Stay updated on relevant environmental laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in environmental litigation and regulatory defense.
  • Proven experience representing clients in matters involving CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and related California statutes.
  • Transactional counseling experience is a plus.
  • Strong oral advocacy, analytical, interpersonal, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm for the practice of law.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • High level of academic achievement.

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
