Duties
- Represent clients in environmental regulatory defense and administrative enforcement matters, including cases involving CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and related California statutes.
- Provide strategic legal advice and counseling on environmental compliance and regulatory issues.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
- Prepare and present oral arguments, written briefs, and legal documents.
- Negotiate settlements and manage litigation processes from inception through resolution.
- Collaborate with clients, experts, and other legal professionals to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
- Stay updated on relevant environmental laws, regulations, and industry trends.
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience in environmental litigation and regulatory defense.
- Proven experience representing clients in matters involving CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and related California statutes.
- Transactional counseling experience is a plus.
- Strong oral advocacy, analytical, interpersonal, and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of energy and enthusiasm for the practice of law.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- High level of academic achievement.
Certifications
- Admission to the State Bar of California.
