Postman is seeking a strategic and results-driven ecosystem leader who is passionate about APIs, partnerships, ecosystems, collaboration, and developer success.

As the Head of Product for Ecosystem Platform, you will be responsible for shaping the future of our ecosystem platform, driving innovation, and expanding our reach in API development and collaboration.

You will seed and scale an ecosystem platform that will empower developers and partners to create rich, integrated experiences that will help teams create, collaborate, manage, and scale their APIs and solutions.

This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of developer ecosystems and a passion for delivering exceptional developer experiences. You will define our broader ecosystem strategy, including our extensibility, integration frameworks, and program approach.

You are eager to get your hands dirty, doing individual contributor work to drive execution excellence across teams, yet you can naturally up-level your strategic thinking. Your success will be measured by business impact, including active usage, satisfaction, GTM, operations, and revenue metrics.

Responsibilities

  1. Research, gather, and consolidate customer insights (both qualitative and quantitative) to inform our strategy, priorities, requirements, use cases, and roadmap for the Postman Ecosystem.
  2. Develop and execute the product strategy for Postman's ecosystem, including APIs, extensibility, developer frameworks, developer portal, community engagement, operations, and app distribution.
  3. Partner closely with your core squad (i.e., engineering, platform, design) to set the vision and deliver an ecosystem platform that empowers developers and partners to innovate and scale app experiences on Postman.
  4. Run a stable and reliable ecosystem platform and operation (i.e., uptime, security, change management, support) that developers and customers love and trust.
  5. Foster a vibrant developer community and implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve developer satisfaction.
  6. Streamline and scale ecosystem app adoption and usage via in-product, onboarding, GTM, growth experiments.
  7. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and adoption of our ecosystem platform.
  8. Work cross-functionally (i.e., product, engineering, analytics, GTM, legal, PR, ecosystem, operations) across Postman and partners teams to launch key initiatives, improve developer and customer experiences, and scale success together.
  9. Establish frameworks, infrastructure, culture, rituals, feedback loops, and processes to deliver quality products quickly and towards your business goals.
  10. Clearly and concisely communicate our strategy, internally and externally.
  11. Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team.

Requirements

  1. 10+ years of relevant experience with product, platform, and developer experience in software, collaboration, APIs, and/or ecosystem-rich companies like Slack, Atlassian, Microsoft, GitHub, HubSpot, etc.
  2. Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling developer-focused products or platforms with cross-functional product development teams that delivered meaningful business results.
  3. Excellent communication and influence skills, especially across product, engineering, and GTM to drive change at multiple levels and across companies.
  4. Developer at heart, with hands-on experience working with APIs and ecosystems.
  5. Deep understanding of API technologies, developer tools, and ecosystem dynamics.
  6. Experience in building and managing developer communities and marketplaces.
  7. Experience with customer discovery, market analysis, and competitive research.
  8. Fantastic analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  9. Ability to balance near-term execution with long-term vision.
  10. Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across functions (especially R&D) and at all levels.
  11. Comfort with change and ambiguity, with an adept ability to ruthlessly prioritize, move fast, and test-and-iterate quickly.
  12. Proven track record of leading and scaling teams.
  13. Comfort with 4+ hours of overlap with Bangalore, India (willingness to take early or late PST calls).
  14. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MBA is a plus.

What Else?

This role is based in the greater San Francisco Bay area, and the reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from $230,000 to $325,000 plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition to our pay-on-performance philosophy, we offer a comprehensive set of benefits, including full medical coverage, flexible PTO, wellness reimbursement, and a monthly lunch stipend.
