Job Summary:

Ruggable is seeking a dynamic and visionary Temporary Creative Director to join our team on a contract basis due to a parental leave. This role reports directly into our Sr. Creative Director and helms creative strategy and editorial content strategy, art direction, and copywriting. We’re looking for a strategic leader who is a subject-matter expert on design, art direction, and copy, capable of inspiring a multidisciplinary team to produce innovative, brand-defining work.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Lead a team of art directors, copywriters, and editorial managers.
  2. Ideate, execute, and guide a team to define marketing creative strategy for new product launches and brand marketing initiatives, aligning those strategies with business objectives, target audience insights, and market trends.
  3. Oversee the creation of all creative marketing materials to brand standards, providing tactical feedback on design, copy, and video assets.
  4. Manage multiple external content agencies, providing feedback and direction to ensure brand standards are met while maximizing performance.
  5. Partner with marketing stakeholders across acquisitions, ecomm, retention, social, and influencer to execute strategic initiatives across digital and brand marketing.
  6. Assist with designing marketing assets, planning and art direction of photo and video shoots (mood boards/shot lists), and writing campaign copy.
  7. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging creative growth and new ideas.

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required:

  1. 5-10 years of experience leading a creative team as a creative director, senior art director, or associate creative director.
  2. A strong portfolio of work, showcasing prowess in concept development, brand design, and campaign execution for digital marketing.
  3. Tactical experience as a graphic designer, art director, or copywriter, with the ability to execute refined and innovative brand creative without guidance.
  4. Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (design, visual arts, marketing, creative advertising).
  5. A self-starter with strong communication, presentation, and managerial skills, who is comfortable juggling the needs of multiple global stakeholders.
  6. Strong project management and organizational skills, with experience overseeing multiple projects at a high volume with speedy feedback.
  7. A strategic mindset that’s able to connect the creative process with broader business and marketing goals, analyzing performance insights to refine creative approach.
  8. A goal-oriented team player with a “can do” mindset, able to deliver high quality results on tight deadlines.
  9. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.

Preferred:

  1. Experience working in-house at a DTC brand with a high volume of performance marketing output.
  2. Experience working in home goods or a passionate interest in interior design.
  3. Experience working in project management platforms like Asana.

Details:

  1. $65 - $100/hr (depending on experience).
  2. Contract to start in January 2025.
  3. Temporary for parental leave.
