Vice Chancellor - Education and Student Affairs

University of California San Francisco, San Francisco, CA, United States

Reporting to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost, the Vice Chancellor of Education and Student Affairs provides executive leadership and accountability for the direction, strategic planning, and operational management of campus-wide student academic affairs units as well as educational initiatives and resources that benefit all enrolled students, faculty, and staff in the UCSF Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Graduate Division. The Vice Chancellor works collaboratively with the Deans and educational leadership of UCSF's four health professions schools and graduate division along with other members of the Chancellor's Cabinet to promote our commitment to Advancing Health Worldwide through innovative, collaborative, and interdisciplinary approaches for graduate and professional student education.

The Vice Chancellor's portfolio includes many student-centered departments and units - office of the registrar, financial aid and scholarships, student life, and student mental health and wellbeing services. These programs and services are designed to support the academic success of UCSF students; foster their intellectual, personal, social, and professional development; and enhance the quality of campus life, the educational environment, and students' connections with the broader UCSF community, including alumni. They guide strategic vision for and oversight of cross-campus educational programs, such as educational space, campus teaching and learning technologies, inter-professional education, data and information technology, and more. With the Deans and leaders of educational programs in the Schools and Graduate Divisions, they remain abreast of educational scholarship and advise the EVCP and Chancellor on optimizing the learning and teaching environment and educating the workforce our communities need.

Additionally, the VC serves as a core member of the EVCP's executive leadership team, contributing knowledge and expertise to guide the oversight of all academic missions, including research, education, faculty and student affairs, and other support units.
