Job Overview:
Soliant Education is seeking aSchool Social Workerfor afull-time, onsiteposition inGoodison, MIfor the2024-2025 school year. This role involves providing essential social and emotional support to students, helping them overcome personal, social, and academic challenges. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, licensed professional who is ready to support students and collaborate with school staff to create a positive, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with emotional, social, or behavioral challenges.
• Assist students in developing coping strategies, emotional regulation skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Work with students, parents, and teachers to address and support issues impacting students' academic performance, including bullying, trauma, anxiety, and family issues.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to create and implement intervention plans for students with behavioral or emotional challenges.
• Participate in the development and implementation ofIndividualized Education Plans (IEPs)for students requiring additional support.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate students' mental health and social-emotional needs.
• Serve as a resource to students, parents, and faculty on social and emotional well-being, and provide referrals to outside resources when necessary.
• Support school-wide initiatives aimed at improving student mental health and creating a positive school culture.
• Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress, interventions, and communications with parents and school staff.

Requirements:

• Michigan School Social Worker Authorizationrequired.
• LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) Certificationrequired.
• Must meetNo Child Left Behind (NCLB)standards.
• Previous experience working as a school social worker, preferably in a K-12 school setting.
• Strong knowledge of school policies, IEPs, and behavioral intervention plans.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administrators to support students.
• Excellent communication, counseling, and problem-solving skills.
• Compassionate, empathetic, and dedicated to helping students succeed both academically and socially.
