Responsibilities
•Issue referrals for the client to dental specialists, such as pediatric dentists, orthodontists, endodontists, and periodontists when appropriate •Implement and coordinate preventive dental care treatments such as flossing, fillings, sealants, x-rays, and fluoride applications, and cosmetic dental services such as whitening when indicated •Conduct work that is compliant with office policies and procedures; safety, OSHA, and MSDS guidelines; and infection and infectious diseases control standards •Examine the patients' teeth thoroughly using diagnostic tools, procedures, and instruments to spot signs of dental diseases and determine the overall state of dental health •Identify oral diseases and provide appropriate treatment for common dental problems including cleanings, restoration, root canals, and surgical extractions •Issue referral for the client to dental specialists, such as pediatric dentists, orthodontists, endodontists, and periodontists when appropriate •Determine and diagnose oral diseases and provide appropriate treatment for common dental problems including root canals, surgical extractions, cleanings, and restoration •Coordinate and perform preventive dental care treatments such as sealants, x-rays, flossing, fillings, and fluoride applications, and cosmetic dental services such as whitening when indicated •Ensure all work is compliant with infection and infectious diseases control standards; office policies and procedures; and safety, OSHA, and MSDS guidelines •Supervise dental assistants, dental hygienists, associate dentists, and administrative staff, and communicate with support staff regarding patient care plans
Qualifications
•Completion of AEGD/GPR or a minimum of 1-2 years of General Dentistry experience, preferred •Experience with restorative, crown & bridge work, and simple extractions, highly preferred •North Carolina Dental License, REQUIRED •2+ years in clinical or private practice dentistry experience is required •Strong bedside manner and great communication skills are necessary •Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in General Dentistry •Additional certifications required: CPR, BLS, and NPI •Relevant knowledge of dental standards and guidelines, public health standards, and dental medicine trends and advances is an asset •Possess strong bedside manner, and great communication skills •Familiarity with computers •A minimum of two years of dentistry experience in clinical or private practice is required •Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in General Dentistry •Up-to-date knowledge of dental standards and guidelines, public health standards, and dental medicine trends and advances is desired
