The Johnston County Public Health Department - Behavioral Health Division has an immediate opening for a board certified or board eligible Staff Psychiatrist - Physician III B. Duties and Responsibilities

Employee will treat all medical, psychiatric, and neurological problems of assigned patients; evaluate and interpret related reports developed by physicians, nurses, social workers, and other professional personnel. Employee will compile histories of present and past illnesses; reviews available records; performs mental status examinations. Employee will examine new patients and established patients. Employee will determine the need for and recommend treatments. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must have thorough knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of general, preventive medicine and of the techniques involved; thorough knowledge of recent developments in the field of medicine; thorough knowledge of the practice of the medical specialty or subspecialty to which assigned. Must have skills in the treating and diagnosing of a variety of diseases and injuries and in the practice of an applicable specialty of medicine. Must have the ability to compile clear and concise notes for patient's charts and to make oral presentations of cases in medical conferences and ability to guide work performance of physicians with limited experience. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associate personnel, patients, and their families, and the general public. Desired Education and Experience

Must be board eligible/board certified psychiatrist and licensed to practice medicine in the State of North Carolina.
