Shift Metal Polisher/Finisher . This role is based on-site in our Huntington Beach, CA facility. The hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, full-time from 5:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

California Faucets offers over 30 finishes to its customers. Our product is not mass-produced and is made with artisan hands. All our brass fixtures require various forms of metal finishing to achieve the high standards and quality craftsmanship we are known for. This is why the role of Metal Finisher is such a critical part of our operation. As an employee of the Cal Faucets Finishing Department, you will be involved in the following:

Sandblasting with the use of high-pressure air equipment to clean and prepare surfaces such as brass or other types of metals. When sandblasting, manually direct nozzle over surface of large parts or inserts arms through glove-fitted cabinet openings and manipulates small parts under nozzle for specified interval. Metal polishers and satiners use polishing lathe machines on metal surfaces to correct defects, smooth, satin and prepare surfaces and polish materials. As a metal buffer, you will set up and operate polishing equipment. You will begin by coating the buffing wheel with a compound stick. After the wheel is prepped, you will hold and move parts against the wheel until the part is either smooth and/or satin and free of defects or any plating effects instigated by production. You will be required to maintain buffing materials and equipment including buffers, finishing wheels and finishing machines. Metal plating and living finish application utilizes various chemical solutions to achieve a desired color or finish. This involves racking or wiring of parts, dipping parts in chemical baths and rinse tanks, drying parts with forced air and cleaning or waxing the finished product to obtain the desired results. Processing living finishes using the burnishing machines (**these machines will require exposure to nut shells). Electro-stripping involves removing the outer chrome plated layer to expose the underlaying bright nickel finish. This is achieved by racking parts and dipping them in electrically charged chemical baths, rinsing and drying. Peeling, or unwrapping parts in preparation for further finishing is a simple process that is required before orders can be processed. It consists of verifying the type and quantity of parts against the production order form and then staging them in trays. Once parts are finished, they must be returned to inventory. Production tickets are scanned into the ERP computer system and advanced to the next stage of assembly or production. This requires the use of bar code scanners and personal computers. Performing additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
