For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $66,000 - $99,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.  

 

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric is looking for a Building Automation Technician for the Pleasanton, CA area

This position is a field-based position where you may perform any number of roles. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers in delivery of any of the following project components…system design/review, software, installation, startup, commissioning, and owner training.   

 

What do you get to do in this position? 

  • Diagnoses and repairs complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software. 
  • Implement databases, controls sequences, programs, and graphics for new construction and retrofit projects.  
  • Provides start-up and checkout documentation to the installation team for use in commissioning and validation 
  • Organize and demonstrate required BAS project sequences to meet commissioning agents' requirements.  
  • Commission controls installation and verifies that control sequences meet specifications.  
  • Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and as-built drawings 

 

This job might be for you if: 

  • Controls troubleshooting and programming for BAS systems (Function Block + Script, Graphics) 
  • Creates intuitive graphical user interfaces for BAS systems. 
  • Follows established written standards and procedures for software development, communication and documentation. 
  • Communicates clearly and concisely project progress, roadblocks, and solutions. 
  • Provides training, as requested, either on customer site or at our training center 
  • Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction. 

Qualifications: 

  • Field experience in the HVAC controls industry; preferably with troubleshooting, maintenance, and service  
  • Technical, hands-on experience with commissioning and programming of DDC controls.  
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment. 
  • Electrical troubleshooting knowledge 
  • Experience with Schneider Electric EcoStruxure BAS a plus 
  • Must be highly organized and possess the ability to work in a high paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet the schedules given by the leadership 
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate independently and autonomously and take ownership of all tasks. Excellent oral and written communication skills and team oriented 
  • Proficiency with writing code for controller sequence of operations  
  • Proficiency with integration protocols (BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, etc 

 

Requirements: 

  • Two-year (2) degree in a related technical field required or related work experience 
  • Experience in the Building Automation field
