Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar design-related role experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience with Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, or their functional equivalents
Responsibilities
- You will be a key voice in designing the vision and bringing it to life
- You will create elegant, intuitive user interfaces that meet unique customer needs
- You will work closely with other designers, researchers, product management, engineering, data science, and operational teams to successfully go from early stage product concepts to iterations and launches of new features and offerings
- Create world-class, user-centered designs based on market research, business requirements, customer feedback, and usability research
- Collaborate directly with Conversation Designers and the Research team to ensure a consistent and delightful experience across all customer touch points
- Partner with the Product Management team to translate business requirements into use cases and high-level customer experience requirements
- Collaborate directly with software engineers and data scientists to bring the resulting designs and vision to market
- Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes
- Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications
- Present design work to the design team, product team, and leadership for review and feedback
- You will work directly with product managers to understand requirements, and develop design concepts that will be reviewed with leadership
- You will then work with dev teams to deliver detailed visual and interaction specifications
- You will work with multiple teams in a fast-paced environment, embedded with a community of designers and researchers who provide feedback and support
Benefits
- The base pay for this position ranges from $94,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market
- Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits

The Alexa UX team is seeking a creative and customer-obsessed UX Designer to define and shape the future of Alexa experiences. You will be a key voice in designing the vision and bringing it to life. You will create elegant, intuitive user interfaces that meet unique customer needs. You will work closely with other designers, researchers, product management, engineering, data science, and operational teams to successfully go from early stage product concepts to iterations and launches of new features and offerings.

About the Team
The Alexa UX team is at the forefront of creating innovative new Alexa experiences on Echo devices with screens, mobile apps (Alexa App), Fire TV, tablet, and other devices.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar design-related role experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience with Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, or their functional equivalents
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to understand how machine learning and other complex technologies can address complex use cases and customer needs
- Ability to quickly turn around detailed flows and mockups or prototypes reflecting a range of options
- Ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile environment
- Ability to communicate, present, and gracefully defend your team’s design decisions
- Experience with designing for Machine Learning systems
- Experience with multiple platforms and form factors, including smartphone, tablet, multi-modal, and wearables
- Experience building voice-based products and services
