As part of our ISO 9001:2000/AS9100 certified facility, the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CMM programming, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and First Article Test Reports. This role involves programming, setting up, and operating CMMs for quality inspection of parts produced on CNC machines, ensuring that all parts meet the exacting standards required for aerospace and defense manufacturing.

If you have at least 3 years of experience in CMM programming and have worked with PC-DMIS software, calibration, and inspection processes for high-precision industries, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• CMM Programming & Setup: Program and operate CMM machines (using PC-DMIS or similar software) to inspect parts and ensure compliance with precise customer specifications. Perform calibration as required to maintain accuracy.

• Quality Control & Inspection: Conduct in-process and final inspections using CMM equipment, reviewing part specifications, and ensuring adherence to GD&T and industry standards (including ASME 14.5/Y).

• First Article Test Reports: Prepare and review First Article Test Reports (FATRs) to document that first-run parts meet all dimensional and tolerancing requirements.

• Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret complex engineering drawings, including GD&T symbols, ensuring that the final product aligns with customer and industry standards.

• Problem-Solving: Anticipate and identify potential issues during the programming phase or inspection process, resolving them proactively to ensure minimal disruption to production schedules.

• Collaboration: Work closely with machinists, toolmakers, operators, and quality control inspectors to ensure consistent part quality and timely resolution of any issues that arise during production.

• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation for all inspections, calibration, and test results to ensure compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements.

• Process Improvement: Propose and implement improvements to inspection processes and workflows, leveraging your technical expertise to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CMM Programmer, with hands-on experience in programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS or similar software.

• Industry Experience: Background in the Aerospace or Defense industries, with familiarity in managing complex tolerances and stringent quality control standards.

• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of GD&T, specifically ASME 14.5/Y, and its application to manufacturing processes. Ability to interpret and apply First Article Test Reports.

• Calibration Knowledge: Experience in calibration of CMMs and other inspection equipment to maintain accuracy and reliability.

• Quality Standards: Deep knowledge of ISO 9001:2000/AS9100 quality management standards and the ability to maintain compliance throughout the inspection and production process.

• Machinery Proficiency: Experience with CNC Lathes, CNC Mills, and other related equipment used in conjunction with CMM inspections.

• Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail, ensuring that parts meet the most stringent tolerances and specifications.

• Communication & Collaboration: Strong ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, providing clear documentation and feedback to team members when necessary.

• Overtime Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays as required to meet production and inspection deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in calibration and ensuring accuracy in complex CMM operations.

• Previous work in high-precision industries such as Aerospace or Defense with a focus on compliance to industry standards.

• Familiarity with late-model equipment from manufacturers like Mori Seiki, Fadal, Star, Flow, Amada, and Mitsubishi.

Benefits:

• Competitive hourly wage based on experience

• Sign-up bonus potential

• 401(k) with matching contributions

• Year-end bonus

• Paid vacations, holidays, and sick days

• Life insurance and vision coverage

• Opportunities for career advancement in a growing company
