Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee daily activities between the Operating Rooms and Sterile Processing to ensure efficient case flow, under the general supervision of the Sterile Processing Manager.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Physicians, operating room, and sterile processing department co-workers.
- Serve as a point of contact for Physicians, OR and SPD co-workers to resolve concerns that may arise before, during or after surgical procedures.
- Consult with key parties to identify and implement revisions to instrument sets, naming, conventions, count sheets, and instrument identification practices.
- Ensure all operating rooms have needed pre-cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization supplies.
- Manage sterile storage par levels for instrumentation and communicate needs promptly.
- Demonstrate knowledge of medical instrumentation, surgical cases, and aseptic technique and assist with sterile processing responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Job requirements:
- 2 years or greater as a Sterile Processing Tech or Surgical Tech
- CRCST, CSPDT or CST certifcation
- High School diploma or GED
