Title Director, (Renewable Development)

What You Can Expect
The Title Director, Renewable Development will manage the title curative efforts for mid- and late-stage renewable, wind, and solar energy projects within the legal team, supporting project development and financing efforts. This role involves managing a small team of four in the title group, reviewing and assigning projects, and interfacing with third party assets, as well as other geo-dispersed teams in legal, engineering, and development for renewable projects.
Everyday in this role you will:
- Lead Title Curative Work: Manage title curative efforts for mid- and late-stage wind and solar energy projects, including the supervision of title analysts and external consultants.
- Address Title Exceptions: Drive the process of analyzing and resolving title exception items or other requirements identified in title commitments or pro forma title policies to ensure insurance coverage.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with surveyors, title companies, attorneys, and project developers to ensure compliance in survey preparation and title company, debt, and equity requirements.
- Landowner Outreach: Oversee landowner negotiations to assist with site control tasks, and work with the legal team to draft title curative related agreements or other documents.
- Implement Title Curative Efforts: Organize and execute title curative efforts through the close of title insurance policies, including preparing, coordinating, and tracking the execution of title curative documents and agreements required for closing.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in which you have learned commercial principles, commercial law, contract management, real estate, or renewable energy development.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional work experience, including management, supervision, or director-level roles, with at least five (5) years in real estate and title insurance, emphasizing commercial renewable energy title insurance transactions.
- Proven experience in managing complex real estate title insurance matters, including review, analysis, and resolution of title exceptions and requirements identified in title commitments and title policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; basic understanding of GIS mapping. Skilled in drafting and maintaining tracking spreadsheets for multiple projects.
- Collaborative and team-oriented individual with an optimistic attitude, capable of shifting focus quickly and efficiently between varying tasks and priorities, and relating to diverse groups of people.
- Pro-Active, self-starter who is highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently without direct supervision. Demonstrated ability to balance conflicting resources and priorities.
Additional Details
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy.
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% of the time.

Compensation
Salary Range: $146,300 - $224,135 USD annually.
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan.
