Job Title: Registered Nurse - CVICU Pediatrics Job Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - Pediatrics Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 PM - 07:15 AM Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, PALS (ACLS preferred) Must-Have: Minimum 18 months of Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU experience Job Description: - Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in a cardiovascular ICU setting. - Manage patient assignments based on acuity with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 for ICU status, 1:2 for intermediate care, and 1:3 for stepdown or non-ICU in an overflow unit. - Work in a 24-bed pediatric cardiac ICU and a 12-bed overflow unit, focusing on conditions such as congenital heart defects, post-surgical repair, heart failure, arrhythmias, and transplant cases. - Care for patients ranging from neonatal through young adult, and occasionally adult patients with congenital heart disease. - Demonstrate proficiency in maintaining standards of care specific to cardiovascular complications and interventions. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. - Utilize critical thinking skills to handle complex clinical scenarios. - Engage in continuous education and training to stay current with pediatric cardiovascular care practices.
