Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electrophysiology (EP) Technician to join our cardiology team. The ideal candidate will assist in diagnosing and treating patients with heart rhythm disorders by performing specialized electrophysiology procedures, such as catheter ablation, electrophysiology studies, and device implantation. The EP Technician will collaborate with cardiologists, electrophysiologists, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure high-quality patient care and accurate diagnostic results. Key Responsibilities: Assist in performing electrophysiology procedures, including but not limited to electrophysiology studies, catheter ablation, and the implantation of pacemakers or defibrillators. Set up and calibrate electrophysiology equipment, ensuring that all devices and instruments are functioning properly before procedures. Prepare patients for electrophysiology studies by explaining the procedure, ensuring their comfort, and monitoring their condition before, during, and after the procedure. Provide real-time assistance during procedures, including positioning catheters, monitoring patient vitals, and recording and analyzing electrical signals from the heart. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of procedures, including patient information, results, and physician notes. Adhere to safety protocols, ensuring radiation safety, infection control standards, and proper sterilization techniques are followed. Assist in the preparation and management of medical equipment, tools, and supplies during procedures. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to review patient history, discuss potential concerns, and ensure coordinated patient care. Ensure the proper handling of equipment and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary. Educate patients on post-procedure care, answer any questions, and provide clear instructions for recovery and follow-up appointments. Stay updated on advancements in electrophysiology technology, procedures, and techniques through continuing education.
