Travel Nurse RN - ICU/Critical Care in Alexandria, LA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Guaranteed Hours: Experience: Minimum 1 year of ICU experience License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS (TNCC is a plus) Must-Have: - Willingness to care for COVID-19 patients - Positive attitude, flexibility, teamwork - Desire for excellence and self-motivation - Good communication and people skills - Ability to work in a diverse environment Job Description: - Total care provided by RNs with support staff including a Unit Secretary/COVID runner - Equipment includes ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, balloon pumps, ventriculostomy drains, glucometers - Use of iMobile phones and technology throughout the hospital - PPE includes masks, face shields, goggles, PAPR, and hoods for COVID-19 patients - Documentation system: Meditech using Evidence-Based Clinical Documentation (EBCD) - 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement - Floating to other Medical-Surgical Units as needed with a focus on Intensive Care Units - Procedures on the unit include intubations, cardioversions, ventriculostomy drain management, IABP management, and continual renal replacement therapy (CRRT) - Focus on compassionate connected care through AIDET, hourly rounding, and bedside hand-off reporting - Dress code: Ceil blue scrubs, optional white or ceil blue scrub jacket; green surgery scrubs provided for COVID patient care - Recognition for high-quality measures and service excellence Additional Information: - Nationally certified staff members, including managers - Self-scheduling opportunities within guidelines - Advanced skills in ventilator management, critical care drip knowledge, cardiac, neuro, and respiratory systems - Award-winning unit with a history of excellence in care
