This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac procedures and those with complex cardiac conditions. Position : Stepdown Cardiac Nurse Location : Memphis, Tennessee Schedule : Night (4x12 Hours) 19:00 7:00 Day (4x12 Hours) 7:00 19:00 Unit : Labor and Delivery What You'll Do : As a Stepdown Cardiac Nurse, you will conduct thorough assessments of patients with cardiac conditions, monitoring vital signs and identifying early complications. Collaborating with the healthcare team, you will develop and update individualized care plans while continuously monitoring patients and responding promptly to emergencies. Your role includes administering medications, providing education to patients and families about cardiac health and post-procedure care, and maintaining accurate documentation in electronic health records. You will participate in multidisciplinary rounds to optimize care and engage in quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will be prepared to respond to cardiac emergencies and advocate for patients' needs throughout their recovery journey. Your contributions will be essential to the well-being of patients in the cardiac stepdown unit. Resp onsibilities : Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' cardiac conditions, vital signs, and overall health status. Care Coordination: Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, including physicians, specialists, and other nurses. Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients for changes in condition, responding promptly to emergencies and administering appropriate interventions . Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, ensuring patient safety and adherence to medication management guidelines. Patient Education: Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, post-procedure care, medication management, and lifestyle modifications. Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies. Collaboration: Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communicate effectively with team members to enhance patient care. Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and adhere to evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
