Job Title: Certified Operating Room Technician / Surgical Technician (CST) Job Specialty: Surgical Services Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Will consider less than 2 years of experience, first-time traveler with the right experience License: Must have an active WA license Certifications: BLS, IAHCSMM, National Certification Required: NBSTSA Must-Have: Vascular and Thoracic experience, Scrub skills required Job Description: - Previous permanent employees of the specified organization do not qualify for any travel contracts in the Operating Room units at certain locations, regardless of time separated. - Permanent candidates from any other facility (non-specified) are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. - Floating to other units and campuses is required and will be based on qualifications and requests. - Call requirement includes three weeknight call shifts (11 p.m. - 7 a.m.) and three weekend call shifts (7 a.m. - 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.) per 6-week schedule. Call response time is 30 minutes from being called. - Must have experience in General Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Colorectal Surgery, Podiatry, ENT, Dental, Pediatrics, Plastics, Maxillofacial, Gynecology, Thoracic, Bariatric, Pulmonary, Urology, Vascular, Endovascular / Hybrid, and Transplant (Liver, Kidney). - Skills in Ambulatory OR, Teaching Hospital, Trauma (preferred), General OR, Bariatrics, Endo/Laparoscopic, ENT, Plastics, Podiatry, Thoracic, Transplant, Urology, Vascular, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Carotid Endarterectomy, Endovascular Aneurysm Repair are required. - Orientation is 40 hours, non-billable. - A maximum of 5 days off is approved; anything more requires managerial review. - Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last three years in a comparable specialty/setting are required. - Completion of modules is mandatory pre-start and annually, with an average of 16 hours spent. Note: Job assignments include floating to other units, and transportation is the responsibility of the traveler. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment.
