TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Oncology RN in Glens Falls, New York, 12801 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Clinic/Infusion Therapy/Oncology - Chemo Certified Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Guaranteed Hours: 30 Experience: 2 years of current experience in outpatient oncology and infusion License: New York State RN license Certifications: ACLS (AHA), CHEMO, OCN, BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Chemo Certification (ONS) and Oncology Certified RN (OCN) - Peripheral IV insertion experience - Port/Fistula/Catheter experience - IV Certification - EPIC and Cerner Experience - Previous traveler experience preferred - BSN preferred - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Job Description: - Provide care in an outpatient infusion setting offering comfort and convenience for patients requiring frequent infusions of medications. - Administer infusion therapies including IV antibiotics, antifungal, and steroids for inflammatory conditions, and more. - Conduct blood and blood product transfusions and maintain central venous access devices. - Handle the placement of Peripherally Inserted Central Venous Catheters (PICC lines). - Administer IV Immune Globulin therapy (IVIG) and hydration therapy, including IV/IM vitamins. - Maintain and care for intrathecal or implanted infusion pumps, and conduct iron infusions. - Teach self-administration of medications like Humira, Lovenox, and treatment for Hepatitis C. - Perform therapeutic phlebotomies and specialty medication administration for conditions like Crohn's, RA, Psoriatic Arthritis, and more. - Complete non-billable orientation with required training in de-escalation techniques. - Must be available for two out of the three holidays: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's. Note: COVID vaccinations are encouraged, but not required. Ensure completion of de-escalation training from specified groups as part of the onboarding and clearance process.
