TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Albany, Georgia, 31701 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Observation Unit (Medical Surgical) Job Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Not required to submit Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is highly recommended Must-Have: Experience with Heparin drips Job Description: - Work in a fast-paced observation unit with 22 beds. - Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:5 or 1:6. - Charge nurses are occasionally assigned patients. - Heavy tele unit monitored centrally; RNs are responsible for reading strips. - Nurses perform their own EKGs and draw laboratories. - No ventilator equipment; no vents, CPAP, or BiPAP. - Work every other weekend and rotate holidays with permanent staff. - Nurses may float to the medical-surgical unit as needed. - Dress code includes Caribbean Blue top and bottom, or white top and Caribbean Blue bottom, or all-white top/bottom. - Participate in a unit/department-specific orientation over three shifts. - The charting system used is MEDITECH 6.1. - Registered Nurses are expected to handle discharges or admissions with a daily count of up to 16. - Registered Nurses are occasionally canceled for 12 hours every two weeks.
