Job Title: Optical TechnicianJob DescriptionAs an Optical Lab Technician, you will collaborate closely with engineers and scientists in the development of optical, opto-mechanical, and opto-electrical systems, sub-systems, and components for various products. This role requires exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.ResponsibilitiesFabricate, assemble, align, and test optical, opto-electrical, and opto-mechanical components, sub-systems, and systems.Operate various optical instruments.Manage lab and shop materials and supplies, ensuring lab and shop readiness.Provide feedback on assembly and test processes, and assist in refining procedures.Essential SkillsExperience with optical engineering, calibration, and assembly.Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting.Experience with metrology instruments.Technical school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of relevant experience.Proficiency with basic computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.Strong basic math skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with optical components, including cleaning, cutting, aligning, and measuring.Ability to test and measure components, with a hands-on approach.Ability to work independently and handle ambiguity, developing processes without a specific SOP.Capability to provide feedback and refine processes in collaboration with engineers.Work EnvironmentThis position requires working onsite in Oceanside, CA in a clean room environment where you will be required to wear a bunny suit.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00•Medical, dental & vision•Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital•401(k) Retirement Plan - Pre-tax and Roth post-tax contributions available•Life Insurance (Voluntary Life & AD&D for the employee and dependents)•Short and long-term disability•Health Spending Account (HSA)•Transportation benefits•Employee Assistance Program•Time Off/Leave (PTO, Vacation or Sick Leave)Workplace TypeThis is a fully onsite position in Seattle,WA.Application DeadlineThis position will be accepting applications until Dec 9, 2024.About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
