Summary:
The Manufacturing Site Leader will plan, implement, and assist in product development, capital improvement & budgeting. This individual will direct production / operations thru a team of functional leaders & front-line leaders, ensuring high levels of customer & team member satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials & machines. The individual will also ensure product lines are produced efficiently and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and standards stated by our GFSI recognized certification scheme

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads manufacturing personnel to meet or exceed regulatory requirements, standards stated in the BRC/SQF Scheme and customer expectations in regard to food safety and quality.
- Interface with Marketing Team to stay abreast of new products and new business.
- Interface with Procurement Team to ensure ingredients, packaging, and warehousing work together seamlessly as our products move thru the various DC’s.
- Interface with Quality Team to ensure that production adheres day to day to Good Manufacturing Practices, and that all plants operate to standards stated in the SGF/BRC Food scheme.
- Interface with Maintenance Team to ensure that Production needs are met through Preventive Maintenance and Fabrication and that downtime is minimized.
- Vet new equipment to ensure Continuous Improvement in the area of food safety, quality and production efficiency.
- Interface with Controller to provide production and labor information for costing new items and insuring profitability of current products.
- Interface with Research and Development Team to bring new products from the lab to actual plant production.
- Plans & implements operating policies, procedures & budgets.
- Manages policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete & on-time delivery, safety, & plant performance measures.
- Provides leadership for team member relations through effective communications, coaching, training, & development & determines headcount needs.
- Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements & improved working relationships.
- Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, & complete & on-time delivery, as well as company policies.
- Prepares thorough and objective team member evaluations. Provides informal feedback on a regular basis. Acknowledges good performance and discusses performance problems in a timely manner.
- Works cooperatively with other management team members to ensure the department is integrated into the company wide team effort. Keeps others informed of necessary and factual information. Fosters teamwork between departments.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree or 10+ years of food Manufacturing experience.
- Strong influencing skills.
- Ability to think strategically about how to provide the best customer service while considering the business.
- “Hands-on-leader” with the ability to thrive and excel in a fast-paced JIT environment.
- Advanced multi-tasking and attention to detail skills required.
- Advanced knowledge and compliance; industry, EEOC, and employment laws.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions based on pertinent facts and good judgment.
- Ability to collaborate with others to achieve group attainment of organizational goals.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and influence people and process situations.
- Ability to create an atmosphere in which timely and appropriate information flows smoothly from both up and down the organization and with external customers.
- Ability to develop and maintain a wide network of relationships/alliances inside and out of the organization.
- Demonstrated proficiency with operating internal and external software systems at an advanced level not limited to; creating spreadsheets, graphs, charts and preparing presentations.
- Strong knowledge of financial reports
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques, as well as experience in forecasting & planning.
- Talented in comparing performance to company goals & standards, & establishing targets for improvements in safety, quality, service and cost.
- Solid technical skills in materials & inventory management, production scheduling, & preventive maintenance.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to motivate people, develop & lead high performance team with solid team member & training background.
- Ability to manage & organize multiple priorities with proficiency in problem analysis & problem resolution.
