Responsibilities
Under the direction of the department manager, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department and employee performance.
Exercises discretionary judgment in solving problems and working with employees.
Uses working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, techniques, procedures, and general principles and practices to ensure proper operation of equipment for the patients, employees, visitors, and physicians within the boundaries of Legacy Health.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or the equivalent required; Engineering degree or the equivalent experience preferred.
Experience: Hospital engineering experience preferred. Minimum three years facilities maintenance experience preferred; prior supervisory experience preferred.
Skills: Working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws and techniques (i.e., knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, grounds maintenance and related building trades) required. Solid interpersonal relations and verbal/written communication skills. Knowledge of computers and appropriate software programs required. Demonstrated comprehension of and use of proper ergonomics. Ability to plan, develop and facilitate training/in-service modules in an effective manner. Ability to work in a self-directed manner.
