Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Data Process Consultant / Data Architect to join our team in engaging with customers in the Media and Entertainment industry to define data processes that drive customer insights and client revenue growth. The ideal candidate will demonstrate both strong hands-on data engineering experience and best practices as well as the ability and desire to lead engagements involving multiple client workstreams to understand complex data processes and define recommended improvements in coordination with strategic goals.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in delivering data and automation-centric customer engagements, collaborating with both management and engineering-level customer resources as well as coordinating activities performed by a consulting project team. You will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of complex advertising and customer segmentation data, and therefore experience with advertising targeting use cases is a plus.
The technology stack that you’ll be working with includes AWS (S3, Athena, etc), Databricks, Snowflake, Looker, and more.
This is an on-site, full-time position based in our Philadelphia office. The annual base salary is $175,000 - $185,000. Candidates will be paid within this range based on their work experience and skills. Candidates are also eligible for our full list of benefits linked here.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a customer point of contact driving engagement and documentation of customer “as-is” processes and architecture related to in-scope project use cases. This includes data, its sources, structure and tooling, outputs, interaction between teams, and flow to produce outcomes supporting given use cases.
- Drive cross-team workshops as necessary in support of use case objectives and successful outcomes; lead and participate as required in client priority needs during the term of engagements.
- Demonstrate leadership in collaboration across client teams in an execution role responsible for:
- Analysis of current state processes, tooling, and data flows to define inefficiencies and identify and document areas for improvement.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and lineage of source system data for each use case.
- Provide actionable recommendations for automation improvement of data processes and workflows.
- Produce and provide a rationale for prioritization of recommendations for process and improvement.
- Deliver best practice recommendations for automation and data process improvement through familiarity with data use for AI, data lakes/lake house type concepts, data federation, and other concepts driving client process transformation and improvement road development.
- Bring existing expertise and evaluate net new tooling where relevant to include in recommended client improvements.
- Lead consulting team execution of specific customer data-producing use cases both to deliver necessary customer data outcomes as the result of project delivery requirements, as well as to gain a deeper customer's current state understanding.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and corporate data management is considered during use case development.
- Update business, functional, and technical specifications for client requirements documents based on use case execution.
- Lead hands-on development, POC, or demonstration of improvement recommendations; lead transition of these to production as needed.
- Ensure actions taken in the execution of client projects are consistent with client business and organizational goals and defined for the project.
- Provide weekly status reporting and client presentations using client-preferred templates and tools.
- Provide guidance and mentoring for more junior team members.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Equivalent with enterprise client experience.
- At least 7+ years’ overall and 3+ years experience as a Data Architect with demonstratable experience in business process, data process, and data management with enterprise IT data systems.
- Prior consulting experience in large enterprise IT or data process transformation project execution.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with both client executives and individual contributors.
- Willingness to work full-time in an office in the Philadelphia metro area.
- Ability to collaborate and mediate between differing viewpoints to gain common buy-in on direction.
- Hands-on automation expertise with an understanding of data flows, ETL, data modeling, streaming, and other concepts.
- Experience in AWS-based data architectures, including technologies such as step functions, Lambda, Managed Airflow, S3, Dynamo DB, DataSync, dbt, etc.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Experience with common project and office tools such as office 365, smartsheets, sharepoint, Visio, etc
- Experience and comfort in interacting and presenting with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience in preparing data discovery findings and solution architectures, as well as the ability to navigate and present to stakeholders.
- Previous experience with data usage for entertainment and media industry advertisement segmentation and targeting is desireable.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with the software development life cycle best practices.
- Experience with Databricks and Snowflake.
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, PowerBI or Tableau.
- Experience with functional languages such as Python, Go, etc.
- A passion for learning and adapting to new technologies.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure of delivery timelines and client expectations.
- Ability to see the big picture, not just the piece you are working on.
