Job Description
Our client is a high-growth, PE-backed business with national operations, currently seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to join their team in upper Montgomery County, Maryland. The Senior Financial Analyst will work with Senior Leadership, including the CFO, and have top-level exposure to the consolidated FP& A function. This role will be pivotal in tracking financial performance, creating forecasts, and providing periodic reports to assist senior management in making strategic decisions. The role is primarily office based, and offers flexibility and an employee-centric culture.
Responsibilities:
• Track financial performance against a plan and analyze business performance and market conditions to create forecasts.
• Provide senior management with periodic reports to aid tactical and strategic decision-making.
• Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
• Evaluate the company's financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
• Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Evaluate the financial impact of potential mergers and acquisitions.
• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Use financial modeling techniques with Excel formulas and functions to support decision-making.
• Create dashboards and presentations for the executive team using PowerPoint.
• Combine data from different systems and formats into meaningful consolidated reports.
• Utilize Business Intelligence and ERP software for financial analysis.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial analyst role or similar position.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes and capital management.
• Expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A) is essential.
• Capable of executing budgeting and forecasting tasks.
• Experience in creating financial forecasts and interpreting the results.
• Proficiency in forecasting and modeling financial scenarios.
• Ability to generate and interpret KPI reports.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or related field is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
• Prior JD Edwards experience is a plus, not required
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
