Job Description Summary This role will help facilitate the technical evolution of Test System infrastructure to a next generation engine control test system, facilitating critical growth in capabilities. This individual will be a part of a core team driving the development, verification, and validation of the test system and assure its effective integration with companion systems that measure or monitor, track, record and react to changes in the environment under test. They will also incorporate new techniques to address ongoing code maintenance, functional increments and refactoring to enable new functionality, provide improvements in bandwidth and reliability, or lower operational costs. The ideal candidate will bring their knowledge of software development practices and technical skills into the team and accelerate the test system through collaborative engagement. Job Description E sse n tial Res pon s i b i l i ties: Collaboratively implement a real-time mission-critical engine test system in support of internal engine develop projects as well as final product testing. Perform functional verification of the test system and its interaction with the UUT and companion systems. Prioritize their activities with regard to safety, quality, delivery and cost. Follow development & release processes for effective changes and other needs. Assure the test system meets reliability and performance requirements. Participate in problem solving and management of change as we expand functionality and scope for new environments and airborne platform variants. Engage with technology suppliers, service partners and contracted resources to facilitate development & support. Coordinate with peer developers, engine design teams and test support staff to enable robust system design and effective use. Drive and maintain a high level of professionalism within the organization. Q u a li f i c atio n s/ R e qu i r e m e n ts Experience (4 years) in software development and embedded systems design experience, including device drivers or system interface design. Working knowledge of OO with C++ experience, preferably with large multi-computer systems. Practical experience with mission or safety sensitive environments, such as industrial controls or other environments where operational faults have significant consequences. Knowledge of best practices for the software development life cycle, such as captured by CMMI. Experience with verification or regression testing. Familiarity with software/IP stacks necessary for system communications. Effective planning skills. Trouble shooting skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse team while maintaining a positive attitude. Capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance Education: Bachelors degree in computer science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) D es i r ed C h a r a c t er i st i c s Graduate or terminal degree in a STEM field. Ability to focus and resolve roadblocks. This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
