Business Analyst Reports To: Manager Direct Reports: No Status: Full-Time Salaried Division: Operational Support Job Purpose: The main function of this position is to maximize sales, margin, and inventory by controlling and replenishing inventories by optimizing and balancing the assortment at the store level. Key Job Responsibilities: Build optimum store inventories through replenishment and the management of overstock return transfers from the store locations. Monitor Store service levels, review details, and take action when needed. Monitor daily Replenishment orders. Manage Item/Location Classification Review and implementation. Review system parameters and replenishment factors monthly to adjust for seasonality, changes in sales patterns, and store location/customer moves. Implement monthly system Adds/Removes/Increases/Decreases to assortments as recommended by the system once reviewed. Identify opportunities/challenges such as merchandise assortments by store/region/group, advertising topics, new vendors, competitive effects, and seasonal trends. Communicate identified information regularly with Buyers Use the Replenishment system and the Assortment Planning application to support store assortment decisions. Form a foundation for effective replenishment decisions by analyzing store trends, market variations, competition, and selling patterns (e.g., time of year, vendor, price-point, customer demographics.) Participate in new store assortment planning. Visit stores monthly to gather information in order to evaluate the effectiveness of assortment and replenishment decisions, and to seek store input for future decisions. Requirments: Four-year college degree in a related field. Some retail experience is preferred. Strong analytical skills and demonstrable mathematical skills. Previous familiarity and use of retail math concepts are expected. Demonstrable Excel experience in spreadsheet design and entry, and creation of formulas required. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
