In this pivotal role, you will assist the Director in managing and operating a vibrant waterpark and play a crucial role in leading our dedicated aquatics staff. Become an integral part of our team while ensuring safety, fun, and financial excellence. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Collaborate with the Director on forecasting and executing effective departmental and safety budgets. Design and uphold inspection programs that ensure smooth waterpark operations. Foster a positive team atmosphere by assisting in scheduling, training, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the department. Support the development of Managers, Supervisors, and Lifeguards, nurturing them for future career progression. Participate in the Manager-On-Duty (MOD) program, executing responsibilities seamlessly. Plan, administer, and monitor safety programs that align with Great Wolf standards and regulatory compliance. Respond to emergencies with expertise in first aid, CPR, and AED procedures. Accurately document and track incidents related to safety and OSHA for comprehensive reporting. Conduct thorough monthly checks of safety equipment to guarantee proper functionality and supply levels. Lead the Resort Safety Committee, actively participating in corporate safety discussions. Teach Ellis Lifeguard Training and assist with in-service training initiatives throughout the year. Basic Qualifications & Skills High School diploma or equivalent experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) for document creation and management. At least 2 years of supervisory experience, excelling in coaching and team development. Certification in the Ellis & Associates (E&A) International Lifeguard Training Program. E&A Basic Leadership Training License holder. Skilled in First Aid, CPR, and AED. Adept at conflict resolution. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Desired Qualifications & Traits Aquatics Management experience in a similarly sized facility (minimum of 2 years) is required. Previous Assistant Director Aquatics experience is a plus. College Degree is preferred. Possession of Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) license. Background as an Emergency Medical Technician or in a related medical field is beneficial. Physical Requirements Ability to bend, stretch, and twist. Capacity to sit or stand for extended periods. Comfortably climb multiple flights of stairs and walk frequently. This contractor and subcontractor shall abide by the requirements of 41 CFR 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a).
