Job Overview Participate in the installation, structure, tuning, backup and maintenance of database management systems and software on physical and virtual servers. This may include the support for an ERP solution(s). Essential Functions Create, modify or develop moderate to high complexity databases to include set-up, file structure, device allocation, etc. Participate in the preparation of moderately complex design specifications and functional documentations for assigned database projects. May participate as part of a scrum team focused on database related delivery initiatives. Create moderately complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development. Participate in basic to moderately complex database design and architecture to support application development projects. Participate in the research, design, implementation and support of systems for stand-alone and high availability environments. Participate in the development, maintenance, and utilization of standard operating procedures. Assist in development of policies and procedures to access or interact with remote resources; assist in data transfers or sharing of files. Review checklists for continued ways to improve procedures to save time and money. Participate in the creation and maintenance of moderately complex ETL/ELT solutions and integration of systems as they relate to databases. Monitor database performance, usage, and data integrity. Coordinate database upgrades and patch maintenance. Participate in the performance, reliability, tuning, and sizing of databases. Follow established standards to help maintain the security of the system and for testing new software releases. Ethically handle export control of restricted and controlled data. Troubleshoot and resolve any related hardware, software, user access, or other issues. Participate in tasks for business continuity and disaster recovery. Analyze and resolve security and access problems related to the overall system and database. Participate in the oversight of vendor database support. Assist with database updates and integration of changes through the database environments. Participate in the development and maintenance of moderately complex reports and visualizations. Work with user community to understand data access and integration needs. Participate in peer knowledge sharing groups. Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. Required Education Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Six (6)years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. Required Experience Two (2) years of relevant experience.
