Job Summary
Lead, direct and control the day-to-day activity (staffing and operations) of the plant.
Job Description Manage plant operations according to established company policy. Direct and coordinate all activities within the plant. Monitor implementation of plans and strategies. Resolve external business related complaints by maintaining liaison with local and Divisional Quality staff, and facility staff to investigate and resolve customer issues.
Assign responsibilities, delegate authority, select, orient and train plant staff. Plan, monitor and appraise job results. Direct and maintain activities designed to achieve and maintain high employee morale. Foster intra- and inter-department cooperation.
Prepare operating budget. Schedule expenditures. Analyze variances. Compile and study costs and initiate corrective actions.
Ensure a safe, clean and secure working environment by establishing and enforcing procedures, rules and regulations. Initiate fixed capital requests. Monitor all production related safety and security systems and procedures on a regular basis.
Manage production staff. Monitor predetermined preventative maintenance measures designed to minimize equipment related downtime. Ensure development of adequate plan for ethylene oxide requirements.
Ensure compliance with Corporate Quality procedures by initiating and monitoring related training programs. Ensure compliance with all pertinent corporate, federal, state and local regulations and licensing requirements. Institute and monitor internal compliance programs and procedures. Ensure plant tours for visiting external regulators are properly conducted.
Implement and monitor Lean Manufacturing techniques (Kaizen, 5S, etc.) to analyze new or alternative ways to improve operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Education Bachelors degree.
Work Experience At least 3 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.
Must be willing to work in hazardous areas and follow safety regulations.
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
Above average organizing, analyzing and math skills (practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, measurements and basic algebra) to determine organizational customer and regulatory problems and formulate corrective action plans; attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelors Degree in Engineering field.
Work Experience Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
At least 5 years of general or operational management experience in sterilization operations with ISO and/or GMP exposure and customer service focus.
Knowledge of ethylene oxide, sterilization processes.
Experience working with environmental protection agency.
