A position in Aerotechs Electrical R&D department as a PCB Designer offers opportunities in design of our industry-leading motion control hardware. Responsibilities of a PCB Designer include analog and digital PCB layout, creation of PCB manufacturing documentation, and coordination with engineering and manufacturing teams to support our motion control hardware. In addition, this position optionally offers the opportunity to design, test, and troubleshoot basic electronic equipment. This role is focused on developing a valued technical expert who will produce high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. This position is located at our headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule. What will your day look like? At Aerotech, you will:
Develop motion control components using cutting-edge technologies Collaborate with leading engineers in the field of automation and robotics on a close-knit team Work independently under the guidance of upper level engineers to draw schematics, place components, and complete routing for circuit boards using Altium Designer Generate and maintain BOMs, fabrication documents, detailed technical drawings, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system design information for PCB designs Support on-site fabrication and/or component assembly of PCB designs Learn about Aerotech technologies to expand your responsibilities into other areas of design, troubleshooting, and testing of our motion control hardware What will separate you from the rest? Experience with:
Altium Designer software Multi-layer PCB design High speed signal routing Noise and EMI mitigation techniques on PCBs Electrical safety standards in PCB design PCB library management Advanced PCB technologies 2D or 3D CAD design Generating manufacturing documentation/drawings Clear communication and collaboration on a professional circuit board design team Independently managing and organizing technical design information Designing, testing, or troubleshooting basic electrical circuits Minimum Qualifications:
Vocational, associate, or bachelors degree in Drafting, PCB design, Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Job duties and compensation are flexible depending on education and experience.
Experience with a circuit design software tool Experience with PCB design concepts Experience with drafting documentation concepts Must be authorized to work in the US currently and in the future without employer sponsorship As part of our development program, your position may include work experiences (via short-term rotations) in related roles (typically in different departments). Any such rotations will be arranged with your supervisor - aligning your interests with business needs as available.
