My client is seeking a skilled and motivated Product Engineer to join our team in central Alabama. This role is essential for driving the design, development, and production of high-quality investment castings for a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, and industrial applications. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between engineering design and manufacturing, ensuring our products meet exacting standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Design:
- Collaborate with customers to interpret requirements and design investment cast products.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to develop 3D models and engineering drawings.
- Conduct feasibility analyses to ensure designs are manufacturable.
Process Optimization:
- Partner with manufacturing teams to develop and refine casting processes, including wax pattern creation, shell building, and metal pouring.
- Analyze production workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements.
- Implement best practices for gating, risering, and solidification techniques to minimize defects.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure products meet internal standards and customer specifications.
- Work with quality control teams to conduct inspections, perform root-cause analyses, and implement corrective actions for defects.
- Maintain documentation for process controls, specifications, and quality audits.
Project Management:
- Lead cross-functional teams to manage projects from concept to production.
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and milestones to ensure timely delivery.
- Communicate progress with internal stakeholders and external clients.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in investment casting, metalworking, or related manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in CAD software and experience with simulation tools (e.g., MAGMASOFT, ProCAST) is a plus.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, thermal dynamics, and casting processes.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities with both technical and non-technical teams.
Pay Details: 75,000.00 to 85,000.00 per year
