Role: Product Owner Location: Allen Park, MI (Hybrid) Long Term Contract - C2H Position Description: The Product Owner in this position will work with the Business Analyst's on the Ford side. Gather the requirements for the project and work with the team to create a roadmap (prioritize the user stories, arranges user stories in the product backlog, and communicates the voice of the customer to the development team) Work with the developers using Rally to create user stories for the development team Interface with developers to explain requirements Work and communicate between the developers and business analyst Must Have: 3-5 years of Product Owner experience. Confluence, Jira Automotive and software background BASIC FUNCTIONS Understand capabilities of data source API and how it can best be leveraged to display on OTA Dashboard for dealer facing technical website Help define the global vision for what the OTA Dashboard should entail (desire vs feasibility) Drive changes to API to facilitate vision Capture and communicate requirements for OTA Dashboard to development team via User Stories Define priority of User Stories and track progress to completion PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Managing and prioritizing the product backlog Working very closely with the Product Manager and the Business team. It is product owner's responsibility to review the backlog of development tasks and prioritize what the developers should take on next. This helps to make sure that the team executes according to the product management team's strategic goals and priorities. Translating product manager's strategies to tasks for development When the above was stated that product owner will manage the backlog, It doesn't mean simply move existing user stories and other task-level details around the backlog. Product owner must be more proactive than that. In many cases, they are responsible for drafting (or at least refining) the stories into tasks that the development team can execute on. Learning the needs of the stakeholders Breaking product management's epics into user stories Arranging and prioritizing sprints Evaluating progress at each stage of development Answering dev questions about the reasoning for user stories or tasks Serving as a liaison between product and development Product owner will be acting as a bridge to connect the product and development teams. The Product Owner will translate the understanding of the product manager's vision and what each product's area is designed to do for its users. Stay accessible to developers to answer questions The development team should ask the product owner for answers and guidance.
