Military & Commercial Fasteners, a privately held industrial distribution and manufacturing business supporting both military and commercial OEMs is seeking anAccounting Associate. Military & Commercial Fasteners works with the defense, aerospace, heating/cooling, rail, commercial and transportation markets.

ThisAccounting Associateopportunity includes matching vendor invoices to company purchase orders/receipts, customer collection calls, reception desk coverage, filing and data entry.

The idealAccounting Associatecandidate has 2 years of accounting experience, an associates degree in accounting, understands manufacturing POs, is detail oriented and enjoys numbers!

Accounting Associate Responsibilities:

Rough responsibilities breakdown:

  • 50% Accounts Receivable
  • 30% Accounts Payable
  • 20% Receptionist back-up coverage and other duties

Responsibilities:

  • Process PO vendor invoices
  • Refer price and quantity differences to appropriate personnel for approval and resolution
  • Code miscellaneous vendor invoices based on the General Ledger chart of accounts
  • Record non-PO vendor invoices in EPR system
  • Pull invoices to be paid from open AP file and validate AP checks
  • Process AP checks for mailing to vendors
  • Prepare PO vendor invoices for scanning after payment
  • File paid non-PO voucher packages by vendor
  • Interacts with vendors to promptly resolve AP problems
  • Generate customer invoices for mailing, fax and electronic delivery
  • Generate periodic summary billings for customers
  • Resolve customer collection issues


Accounting Associate Qualifications:

  • 2 years of accounting experience
  • Associates degree in accounting preferred
  • Knowledge of cost accounting preferred
  • 1 yr. ERP experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Capable of defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and is team oriented.
