The Sr. Manager, Social Media Content Strategy will be responsible for developing, creating and implementing our social media content across platforms to increase Benefit’s social brand presence, build strong online communities and amplify our brand, marketing and retailer initiatives. This role will drive social content strategy, implementation, day-to-day community management and channel analytics of all owned social platforms. They will partner with Senior Director of US Marketing Communications on campaign planning & analytics for KPI performance reporting to senior leadership. They will work cross functionally and drive a social-first strategy with fully integrated campaigns and programs that promote the business priorities. This role requires supervisory responsibilities and will manage a team of content creators.
What You’ll Do:
Social Content Strategy:
- Develop social media content plans across platforms that aligns with business goals.
- Manage and oversee all social media content plans, content creators and campaign launches.
- Leverage the latest social media best practices and technologies to drive our brand and product messaging.
- Serve as social analytics lead & report on analytics. Manage communication and educate broader team to help drive quarterly goals, grow channel benchmarks & make recommendations to surpass goals (prepare monthly dashboard, compile metrics from various team leads).
- Oversee off & on-channel community management & fan engagement across all social platforms.
- Manage owned social media channels growth and maintenance; focus on engagement in collaboration with creative team & acquisition in partnership with the brand & influencer teams.
- Partner with Senior Director of Marketing Communications to pivot and evolve as social regularly does. Reset & fulfill strategies by creating specific recommendations & deliverables including content strategy, optimizations and overall social management.
- Ensure synergy across platforms, help to consistently execute Benefit’s social media voice & tone through the conception of digital campaign creative & content creation.
Campaign Planning & Performance:
- Recommend social media strategies for monthly campaigns that contribute to the yearly marketing goals (including but not limited to: brand campaigns, product launches, retailer promotions).
- Concept, develop, and implement execution of larger social campaigns, programs and breakthrough plans in collaboration with Creative team then amplify through broader cross-functional team integration.
- Partner with content team to plan and execute campaign content that drives community engagement.
- Partner with brand, global creative team and influencer marketing teams on programs and partnerships that build our consumer base through social acquisition.
- Manage all social media campaign performance metrics including engagement, impressions, acquisition & associated sales. Compile and deliver post-campaign result decks to leadership, marketing successes and sharing learnings with broader team in monthly meetings and recommend solutions.
- Advocate and make recommendations around social marketing programs, messaging, campaigns, working closely with the other digital team members assigned to these activities.
Benefit LIVE Production:
- Help produce Benefit’s live social selling shows.
- Drive content strategy, planning and calendar across LIVE platforms.
- Track, monitor and capture channel growth and metrics.
- Identify & cultivate cast of personalities.
- Execute daily content through scheduling, briefing personalities, etc. to ensure greater success.
- Manage Take overs (internal and external).
Operational + Cross-functional Planning:
- Partner with global MarCom team, influencer marketing team and retail marketing teams on social initiatives - contributing to weekly social content planning, communicating influencer campaign needs, ecomm and etailer offers & initiatives, and opportunities to drive acquisition & engagement + ensure synergy across all channels.
- Research and stay abreast of trends in consumer behavior, internet & social media behaviors, new technology or platforms and share knowledge with team to be first to market, if suitable.
- Partner with Senior Director in leveraging new technologies and innovations that enhance digital campaigns and brand/product storytelling.
- Oversee competitive monitoring and share out results/report with US Marketing.
- Manage, mentor and motivate direct report (Social Media Coordinator) in order to encourage their professional development while providing supervision and guidance.
- Ensure integration & coordination between social organic and paid social teams.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years marketing or brand marketing experience preferred.
- Experience managing a team.
- Strong strategic vision and creative skills balanced by a highly analytical, hands on and detail-oriented approach.
- Strong understanding of brand management and consumer/retail behaviors.
- Content creation and editing a plus.
- Experience with cross-functional relationship building skills to achieve company’s goals.
- Project management and planning skills, showcasing ability to push and meet project deadlines.
- Sound judgment and the ability to make decisions and present recommendations with clarity and conviction.
- Detail oriented while understanding the “big picture.”
- Excellent communications, presentation and organizational skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to travel.
- Knowledge of digital trends and best practices - savvy about all social media channels and competitive landscape in digital.
- Experience with platform analytics tools such as TikTok Business Suite, Emplifi, PowerBI, Meta Suite, etc.
Schedule:
- Hybrid - requires onsite presence weekly.
- This position is based out of our US corporate office in San Francisco, CA.
The target salary range for this position is $115,000 - $135,000 annually. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, years of relevant experience; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. This position is eligible to earn an annual bonus.
