Job Overview:
Soliant Education is seeking aSchool Social Workerfor afull-time, onsiteposition inMadison Heights, MIfor the2024-2025 school year. The School Social Worker will provide essential social-emotional support to students, help address behavioral challenges, and work closely with families and educators to promote student well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provideindividual and group counselingfor students struggling with emotional, social, and behavioral issues.
• Assist students in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, and social skills to help manage their challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to identify and address barriers to student success, including mental health issues, trauma, and behavioral concerns.
• Participate in the development and implementation ofIndividualized Education Plans (IEPs)for students requiring additional support.
• Conduct mental health assessments and evaluations to understand the needs of students and guide interventions.
• Provide crisis intervention when necessary, using de-escalation techniques and offering emotional support in high-stress situations.
• Serve as a resource for school staff, parents, and the munity on mental health, behavioral interventions, and student well-being.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions, counseling sessions, and progress.
• Lead school-wide initiatives focused on social-emotional learning (SEL), mental health awareness, and creating a positive school climate.
• Refer students and families to appropriate outside mental health resources and munity services when necessary.

Requirements:

• Michigan School Social Worker Authorizationrequired.
• LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker)Certification required.
• Must meetNo Child Left Behind (NCLB)standards.
• Prior experience working as a School Social Worker, preferably in a K-12 educational setting.
• Knowledge ofIEPs, behavioral management plans, and social-emotional support strategies.
• Strong munication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and families.
• Empathetic, patient, and dedicated to supporting students emotional and academic development.
