Job Overview:
Soliant Education is currently seeking aSchool Social Workerfor afull-time, onsiteposition inSterling Heights, MIfor the2024-2025 school year. In this role, you will provide crucial support to students facing emotional, social, and behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will be a licensed, passionate professional who is ready to collaborate with school staff, families, and munity partners to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provideindividual and group counselingto students dealing with emotional, behavioral, and social difficulties.
• Assist students in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, and problem-solving techniques to overe challenges.
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and school administrators to address barriers to academic success, including mental health issues, trauma, and social pressures.
• Collaborate with the school team to implement and supportIndividualized Education Plans (IEPs)for students requiring additional social-emotional services.
• Conduct mental health assessments and evaluations to better understand students needs and strengths.
• Provide crisis intervention as necessary, including de-escalation strategies and emotional support during critical situations.
• Serve as a resource to teachers, parents, and staff on mental health and social-emotional well-being issues.
• Maintain confidential records of counseling sessions, student progress, and interactions with parents and staff.
• Organize and lead school-wide programs to promote mental health awareness, social-emotional learning, and a positive school culture.
• Refer students and families to outside mental health professionals or munity resources when necessary.

Requirements:

• Michigan School Social Worker Authorizationrequired.
• LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) Certificationrequired.
• Must meetNo Child Left Behind (NCLB)standards.
• Previous experience as a School Social Worker in a K-12 setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge ofIEPsand social-emotional interventions.
• Excellent munication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to assess and support students with a wide range of emotional, social, and behavioral needs.
• passionate, empathetic, and able to work with diverse student populations.
