Our team is currently hiring for entry level design and analysis engineers interested in joining us. The EMI/EMC Design engineer will be responsible for developing procedures, plans, and the execution of various EMI design activities for a multitude of systems ranging from submersible to space platforms recognized around the world. The EMI/EMC engineer will also support niche field related to Multipaction, Corona Discharge, and TEMPEST on products being developed throughout L3Harris. This position is for an entry level engineer professional with a highly inquisitive desire to develop technical expertise. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop new solutions, help grow as the next generation of EMI/EMC engineers with a career path leading to the submittal of a candidacy for a position in the L3 Harris technical fellowship program. Essential Functions: Perform design and analysis of systems using HFSS and other software packages. Coordinate test and verify EMI design requirements with teammates, customers, and system architects through the development and sustainment of various L3 Harris systems. Develop control plans, test procedures, and test reports. Perform design analysis and implementation mitigation mechanisms to ensure EMI/EMC compliance. Evaluation of design drawings to verify and correct system design to MIL-STD-461 standards. Review supplier and partner qualification data for electromagnetic compatibility Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electrical electronic systems, mechanical systems interconnect and structures. Perform EMI/EMC nuclear hardening, HIRF, Lightning, RF co-site and antenna coupling analysis and test. Apply EMI engineering technology experience to document and solve complex problems. Perform trade studies modeling simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component interconnects and system performance and to optimize design. Ability and willingness to travel as needed Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or Engineering Physics Technology and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. 2 years experience with EMI/EMC design required Experience with RF isolation, shielding, grounding and filtering Ability to obtain a US DOD Secret Security Clearance Preferred Additional Skills: Active US DOD Secret Security Clearance preferred Experience with HFSS software package highly preferred International Association for Radio Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) EMI/EMC engineer certification Familiarization of RF and measurement instrumentation such as receivers, antennas, analyzers and amplifiers.
