The EH&S Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role serves as the main point of contact for all environmental, health, and safety-related matters at the site, driving continuous improvement in safety processes and environmental sustainability. The EH&S Coordinator works closely with the Global EH&S Director and Manufacturing Manager to create a safe and healthy work environment while promoting employee engagement and safety awareness. Primary Responsibilities Environmental, Health and Safety - General • Develop, implement, and manage safety programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other local regulatory requirements. • Train and educate employees on Corporate Safety Policies to ensure safety compliance and create a culture of safety awareness. • Monitor and ensure the site adheres to environmental regulations, including air quality, hazardous waste management, and water usage. • Oversee emergency preparedness, accident prevention, and risk management strategies. • Continuously review safety operations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks. • Coordinate safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments regularly. Environmental, Health and Safety - Specifics • Safety Metrics & Reporting: o Maintain and update the EHS dashboard monthly with key performance indicators (KPIs). o Analyze safety data to evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend improvements. o Distribute safety reports to management and communicate results to all employees. • Accident/Incident Investigation: o Lead investigations of workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses. o Ensure that all incident reports are properly documented, and corrective actions are implemented. o Recommend solutions to prevent future occurrences and drive continuous safety improvements. • Risk Assessments: o Conduct Job Hazard Assessments (JHA), Process Safety Audits (PSA), and Safety Risk Assessments (SRA) in collaboration with production supervisors and employees. o Implement the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology to manage safety-related process improvements and ensure sustainability. • Regulatory Compliance: o Ensure compliance with OSHA, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PaDEP), and other local regulations. o Work with regulatory bodies for permits and compliance related to air emissions, hazardous materials, and volatile organic compounds (VOC). o Conduct regular inspections and ensure that all environmental and safety documentation is up to date and in compliance with legal requirements. • Employee Engagement & Training: o Promote behavior-based safety initiatives by fostering a culture where employees are engaged and accountable for safety practices. o Lead safety committees, conduct training sessions, and implement continuous learning programs. o Actively seek employee input on safety improvements and incorporate feedback into safety processes. • Leadership & Collaboration: o Lead cross-functional safety teams across all shifts to ensure open communication on potential risks. o Collaborate with engineering and production departments during new equipment installation or process changes to assess and mitigate safety risks. o Promote a culture of safety, data-driven decision-making, and teamwork. Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health and Safety, or related field; or equivalent relevant work experience. OSHA 30-Hour Certification. Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety program management, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations. Preferred Qualifications Experience in lean manufacturing practices, including 5S and continuous improvement methodologies. Proven track record in machine safety and behavior-based safety programs. Hands-on experience in manufacturing operations or similar industrial environments. Working Conditions • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Must be able to lift up to 10lbs. • Frequent visits to the manufacturing floor. Special Requirements • Ability to travel (US and internationally) • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends.
